The refreshed Xtreme Long Drive Team Series combines drafted teams, head-to-head matchups and simulator-powered competition in a format designed for indoor venues and digital audiences.
July 17, 2026 — GOLFJOY is helping power a new chapter in competitive long drive as the refreshed Xtreme Long Drive (XLD) Team Series brings team identities, direct matchups and simulator-based competition into a faster indoor format.
The series made its 2026 preseason debut at Sea Trail Resort in Sunset Beach, North Carolina, during the 29th annual Family Golf Week. GOLFJOY served as presenting sponsor and provided the software supporting the competition.
Two drafted teams — Send It Society and Shark Attack Golf — competed head-to-head, with captains Hank Parks and Jace Norman leading their respective lineups. Send It Society narrowly secured the win.
The bigger story, however, was the format itself: a version of long drive designed to bring elite speed and power into a more compact, spectator-friendly environment.
Designed for Indoor Competition
XLD operates within the Ultimate Long Drive ecosystem while taking a different approach to traditional individual competition.
Athletes enter a draft pool and are selected for teams, turning individual swings into part of a shared result. The structure creates more opportunities for team strategy, recognizable identities and direct rivalries.
Just as importantly, simulator technology allows the competition to operate inside venues that would not normally have the space required for traditional outdoor long drive.
That flexibility creates new possibilities for indoor golf facilities, destination events and other commercial environments while bringing athletes and spectators closer to the action.
From Performance Technology to Competition Technology
GOLFJOY’s involvement goes beyond presenting sponsorship.
As the Official Launch Monitor and Simulator Partner of Ultimate Long Drive, GOLFJOY supports the organization with golf technology designed for an environment where speed, launch conditions and measurable performance are fundamental to competition.
At Sea Trail, the XLD event ran with GOLFJOY software supporting the team-based competition inside the simulator environment.
The event demonstrated how technology traditionally associated with training and simulator play can take on a broader role — helping deliver the competition itself.
A Format Built for New Audiences
XLD’s shorter team format is also designed around how modern sports audiences consume competition.
Faster matchups and direct team rivalries create a format suited to live spectators while generating moments that can translate naturally to livestreaming, social media and other digital platforms.
The Sea Trail event formed part of XLD’s 2026 rollout ahead of the planned 2026–27 Winter Series.
For GOLFJOY, the partnership reflects a broader commitment to supporting new ways to practice, compete and experience golf — from everyday simulator environments to technology-powered competition.
